Tuolumne Meadows, June 14-16, 2002

Although I've officially moved south for the summer, I spent last weekend in Tuolumne Meadows with Charles, Daniel, Rod, Erin, Jeremy, Vivian, and Ed. On Saturday I climbed with Charles and Daniel; we did South Crack on the Stately Pleasure Dome and Northwest Books on Lembert Dome. On Sunday I left early with Rod while Charles and Dan did Phobos and Deimos.

The panorama above was assembled by Charles.

In Xanadu did Kubla Khan
A stately pleasure dome decree;
Where Alph, the sacred river, ran
Through caverns measureless to man
Down to a sunless sea.
.
.
.
The shadow of the dome of pleasure
Floated midway on the waves:
Where was heard the mingled measure
From the fountain and the caves.
It was a miracle of rare device,
A sunny pleasure-dome with caves of ice!

-Samuel Coleridge

Charles, all racked up at Stately Pleasure Dome, points to the spot on my camera.
