Red Rocks, Thanksgiving 2010

Aaron and I road tripped into L.A. for Thanksgiving weekend, stopping in Red Rocks more-or-less along the way. The weather was worse than I remember the forecast being. We met up with Viv, Ed, Dave, and Adrian and enjoyed a tasty Thanksgiving feast (not the one at Outback Steakhouse on Thanksgiving day proper). It was the first of three delicious Thanksgiving dinners (again, not including Outback). Side note: who knew casinos were so busy on Thanksgiving?

I couldn't help taking a picture of the gorgeous color of this carrot-beet juice at home before the trip.

Wednesday was cold. It was snowing as we hiked in to Pine Creek Canyon. Here, a lone ray of sunshine on the rock.

Aaron.

Amy.

Scrambling to the base of the Mescalito. (That's my other hat over my right arm.)

Cleaning a pitch, and cold.

I couldn't feel my hands at this point.

That's not dandruff on Aaron's vest.

Aaron jogged up to the crag where the others were climbing while the snow came down harder.

Dave and Adrian, I think, climbing through the snow. I had no idea those bighorn sheep were in this picture (or that they were there at all) until looking at the pictures at home.

We went to the Gallery in the afternoon under much improved weather.

Aaron under a cool feature.

Hiking out at sunset.
