Pecos Baldy, April 23, 2011
On a wintery spring Saturday, we went for a 17-mile hike out to Pecos Baldy.

We've done this before: underestimated the amount of snow that we'll encounter on a spring hike. I'm not sure why we keep doing that. Here, Michael postholes his way out to Pecos Baldy Lake.

If you walked on the snow veeeery gingerly, you could sometimes avoid plummeting in up to your thighs.
