Building the shed, March 9 - 29, 2008
Aaron and I haven't done much framing, so we are inordinately proud of this little stick frame shed (at least, I am!!). We built it to house the compressed earth block machine. It was pretty easy to build thanks to Mike's advice to spend a lot of time making the guide strings perfectly square.
We learned that corrugated tin roofing is really, really sharp. Aaron sliced his hand on it and needed stitches.

We dug a pad for it by hand, and dug holes for the footings.

We did almost all of the framing in one long afternoon.

Installing the roof is easy and was going quickly until Aaron sliced his hand.

We were leaving for a much-anticipated ski hut trip in Colorado the next day. Aaron and I went despite his stitches, but he didn't bring a second pole so he wouldn't be tempted to use it and accidentally break the stitches. He was the "one-handed bandit" all weekend.

Aaron and the shed, basically finished for now. We will come back later and add walls of compressed earth blocks.
