Stucco, Drywall, and Plaster, September 2008
We contracted out for all three of these, though originally we intended to do some interior earthen plastering ourselves. Maybe some other time---we just got too busy as our move-in date approached to try it. We have a few walls left that are currently exposed brick, so we'll still get the opportunity later.

It rained heavily this weekend, and pre-stucco, our house still leaked. Aaron went out on the roof to find the source of the leak (it was around a window).

We rigged a tarp to cover the leak, but it was also very windy, so that didn't work out so well.

Drywall and a closet door. We had the frame walls and ceilings drywalled. That includes the pantry and closets downstairs, as well as the "wet wall" with our bathroom plumbing; and the entire upstairs.

An early coat of cement before the plaster.

Aaron heading downstairs in the freshly drywalled stairway. It was sad to see the beautiful, open, airy house get blocked off into rooms as the drywall went up.

The color of the interior plaster turned out more yellow than we'd planned, but it dried to a nice sunny pale yellow color. A very happy color, in fact.

The other color of plaster we chose for the inside ended up being kind of pink when it dried, but we hope that after sealing it, it will be more of a tan color.
