Bay Area, Brazos Cliffs, and Flagstaff - June 2009
A few miscellaneous pictures from a trip to the Bay Area, climbing in New Mexico, and playing in an Ultimate Frisbee tournament in Flagstaff.

Charles working on his house. Aaron and I headed west for a few days during my one week of vacation between jobs. We started off in Berkeley at Charles's, then went to Reno with Matt and Susan to climb with Viv and Ed in the Tahoe area, then spent a day wandering around San Francisco, then went to Lover's Leap, then spent a day in Berkeley and headed home.

We climbed with Ed and Viv and Matt and Susan at the Eagle Lake Cliffs. This is the view from the crag (not a picture of the crag).

Aaron beginning "Spacewalk."

There's a rest on this route before the business begins.

Aaron in some of the business.

Viv and Ed.

Aaron, still on "Spacewalk."

Aaron topping out, flashing the route.

A sign at Lover's Leap.

Aaron placing a piece of gear at the bottom of a bolted route to the left of "Tombstone Terror." The rocks behind him are the namesake of that route.

Can I help you? Cloud and Amy in the Brazos River canyon in northern New Mexico.

I did a lot of crosswords, but not a lot of climbing. My shoulder was hurting from practicing my backhand frisbee throw.

Aaron was supposed to bring draws and runners....he forgot them. They fashioned runners out of whatever webbing and pieces of rope they had with them.

Cloud on the first pitch of a route that he and Aaron have been putting up. I wasn't there, so all these pictures were taken by Aaron or Cloud. Photo: Aaron.

Cloud again.

Cloud donning rain gear (photo: Aaron). It drizzled a bit.

The cliff face that Aaron and Cloud are climbing (they're in this picture somewhere). Their route goes to the left of a cool inverted staircase thing that you can see in the middle, bottom-third of the cliff.

The cliffs as we're hiking out.

The Mohini frisbee tournament in Flagstaff was pretty fun. Our team was a mix of players from Santa Fe and elsewhere. These pictures are of us losing in the finals to a team from Tucson. We're yellow; I'm guarding a girl who, from the looks of it, might be getting the frisbee. Photo: Aaron.
