Indian Creek, November 11-14, 2010

With my right arm (the formerly "good" arm) now hurting, I had taken a break from climbing for a month, but I was hoping that the climbing at Indian Creek would be easier on the injury than sport climbing. It was, but I still needed to be careful to avoid pain. So I took it easy while Aaron, Elliott, Chris, and Jimmy climbed hard.

It was also very cold!

Aaron stretches his legs during the six-hour drive.

Cool pinnacles on the drive out.

I made Aaron pull over so I could catch a picture of bits of snow on the brush on our way into the Creek.

I like the lens flare on this one.

Late light on Battle of the Bulge when we arrived around 4:30. It was cold that day, and it had been snowing earlier, so I thought Aaron was kidding when he suggested climbing. He ran up Supercrack, since there was no one on it.

The next day, we got a late start because the campsite was so cold; once we got to the crag, it was pleasant in the sun.

Aaron scoping his line. He hadn't hiked the #6 cam up to the crag, but then of course he became enamored of an offwidth and desired to climb it. Elliott jogged down to the car and brought the wide gear up.

Someone demonstrating offwidth technique, and a bloody ankle.

The next day, I went into Moab to see a friend's construction project, but I joined the guys at the Fin late in the day. Here's Aaron on something.

Jimmy and Chris. They were in the sun, but the wind came around this point of the Fin and it was chilly.

Aaron. This climb had a pretty wild-looking move on it a little higher when one had to leave the comfort of the crack on the right and commit to the left.

Ice in the creek.

Bridger Jack Mesa. On the last day, Aaron and Elliott did "Vision Quest".

A magpie?

Both guys on the summit.

Two cool cairns.
