Flooding in Diablo Canyon, May 19, 2007
I didn't take any pictures of climbing on this day, but I was psyched to have my camera when we witnessed a flash flood in the canyon.

Aaron watching from inside the Solar Cave as the rain begins to fall.

Looking out of the cave. I was trying to snap a picture of lightning, but that didn't work too well.

It became clear that the storm wouldn't abate, so we headed out. I snapped this picture of a yucca flower.

The flood started very slowly, with a small trickle that moved slow enough to walk alongside.

Other flows began to join the first one.

Before long, the flood grew to be larger and more powerful.

It carried small trees along.

Temporary rapids set up in the flow.

Of course, on the drive out, Buckman Road was now underneath a new river.

Another photo of the road. We waited, along with about 8 other cars & trucks, for about 15 minutes until the flow subsided quite a bit, and we were able to cross.
